FREE Summer Meals in Burlington for All Kids 18 and Under

Kids from any town or state are welcome!

Beginning Monday, June 24, the Burlington School Food Project will provide meals at no charge to kids 18 and under. No fees, no registration – just show up. See below for details about dates, locations, meal times, and menus.

Call 2-1-1 for information on free summer meals for kids and other resources across Vermont.

Hello Burlington! We’re looking forward to seeing you all today for Family Meal Kit pick up!

This week we have more gorgeous lettuce 🥬 from @pomykalafarm and beautiful beets from @petes.greens

You will find either red leaf or gem lettuce and either classic red, golden or the very photogenic Chioggia (aka candy striped) beets in your kits this week!

Did you know you can use the greens on your beets too? Try adding some to a salad or sautéing them with garlic for a tasty treat!

This week we are SO EXCITED to be sending home a quart of local strawberries from Paul Mazza's Fruit and Vegetable Stand and some GORGEOUS lettuce from @pomykalafarm arm.

This week’s theme is Burger Kits! 🍔 our veggie kits will feature Vermont @beancrafters Black Bean Burgers and our classic kits will either have chicken patties or black bean burgers due to a delivery issue with our VT beef burgers.

Today is our first Summer Meal Kit distribution day! We hope you enjoy these Brunch Kits!
❗️ We have some important updates ❗️

🌟 All four locations will be open from 3:00-4:30
🌟 the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington distribution will move to the Willow Street side of Roosevelt Park (on the walking path!)
🌟 Meal Kits will be in paper grocery bags through the summer - each kit will cover 7 days of breakfast and lunch for one child
🌟 Each Meal Kit will now come with one gallon of 1% milk
🌟 Reminder that we will only be out at our pick up locations on WEDNESDAYS through the summer! We have ended our Friday Meal Kit Pick ups for the year!

Our classic meal kits include Vermont ground beef and our veggie kits feature garbanzo or black beans from Vermont Bean Crafters! And no matter which you choose, you’ll find fresh mango 🥭 and avocado 🥑 in each kit this week!

April’s Vermont Harvest of the Month is #WholeGrains and this week we’re sending home local, organic popping corn from Hurricane Flats Farm! 🍿🍿🍿Instructions for how to pop it at home are in each kit and we included a paper bag for you to use to pop your own! This is amsome pretty a-MAIZE-ing popcorn and we hope you enjoy it!

Come see us today for Family Meal Kit pick up! This week features local Vermont beef in our classic taco kits! We also are sending home a package of dates in each kit for the month of Ramadan. We will share ideas on how to put these to use if your family does not observe Ramadan.

We were so happy to see so many people at our pick

We were so happy to see so many people at our pick ups today! We’ll be back this Friday rain 🌧 or shine ☀️ (we will hope for shine!)

Our special features this week include Vermont @beancrafters Black Bean Burgers in our vegetarian kits and whole muscle chicken filets in our classic kits. These both pair well with one of the soft baked pretzels (new this week!)

We’re also sending home an Ataulfo mango, also called Champagne mangos, in each kit! These will ripen after a couple of days on the counter to a rich yellow color and are super sweet when ripe!

Other fun treats this week include rainbow carrots 🌈 🥕, @champlainorchards apples and much, much more.
